I just recieved the new dirt wheels mag. and was looking at the tires in there with the aluminum wheels. I was thinking about getting
shredders (20x11x8, will these fit) or the bandit (20x10x8). I have another question about the bolt patterns of the wheels
how do u get the to fit on a blaster.

I am looking for new tires for a Blaster also. I have been reading the postings for a while. I have narrowed it down to Bandits and Razrs/Holeshots/Shredders. The Bandits in the XC version have a Kevlar belt to protect against punctures. Since I ride in the desert I like that. But I ride on mixed terrain, loose and hard pack dirt, gravel and sand washes, so I'm not sure the Bandit is the best tread for this terrain. Also, I'm not sure that the front tires make that big of a difference. I like the colored logo that comes on the Razrs.

Hiya Blaster guys,

As you know tires are really important for getting what power you make to the ground. Granted Blasters aren't known for their arm wrenching power, they're still peppy little rides and a good set of treads is important.

Your tire choice depends on your type of riding. The stock tires are absolutely terrible. The blaster is a really small machine. The 18 inch holeshot patterened tires fit really well. They look in proportion to the rest of the machine and they're darn good performers. The reduced sidewall flex will help with the handling.

However, if you are riding over alot of large obstacles or climbing steep hardpack hills the 20 inch is probably the way to go. I don't recommend the bandit tires. They're large, flat, and extremely heavy They have a close knit, deep, large **** pattern that is more suited for a machine with some excess ponies. Even at that they aren't the greatest performers. You can't go wrong with the holeshot pattern. You'll get alot of life out of them and the traction and handling is superb.

Beware of using the razor and shredder models. The shredders have a dimpled **** design that after some wear is noticably bald. The razors are a great rear tread but the fronts lack quite a bit of *****. They handle nice, but the fronts are prone to wear.

And to answer the second question... The rims come in bolt patterns that match your blaster. When you are purchasing the rims just ask to have them for a blaster. Also, I would recommend Rocky Mountain ATV's tire combo. Its a great deal if you aren't overly familiar with installing your own treads.

Take care,
Bill the 'Shee master

i think i will get the hole shots but is the 20 inch too big because stockers are 21 inch and i don't want to lose a great deal of ground clearance. will the 18 inch ones do this

i run 18x11x8 shredders on mine. they really hook up in the mud. the only think i didnt like is that with the 11 inches wide they hit the rear floorboards so those must be removed

If you buy rims I reccomend getting Douglas .190. I would also reccomend getting some offset ones that will Make the wheelbase wider.
