Man, I sure have heard some horror stories about those kits. Please keep us posted on how they work......it's cheaper for you to wreck your clutch than have me wreck mine....just kidding, hope they work great for you.

I had the Hot Seat clutch kit in my 00 Xplorer before I was talked into buying the 185 dollar Heel Clicker kit.I did install my Hot Seat kit myself, the dealership installed the Heel Clickers kit. They ate a hole right thru my cover because the swing on the Heel Clickers are bigger and the arms hit the cover. The dealership mechanic fixed this.
I lost my low end with the HC kit.We installed a stiffer spring,it still did not have the low end like the HS kit did.I changed to a even MORE stiffer primary spring.Still not like the HS kit.I installed a STIFFER spring again. Now it takes off like the HS kit,BUT my engagement speed is VERY HIGH.Much higher than the Hot Seat kit.You CANNOT engage Reverse WITHOUT hitting the OVERRIDE button! This should be real fun once the snow gets flying and I have to plow!
If you dont have a clutch kit, than its ok to buy the HC kit, however,if you allready have a clutch kit like I did, forget about changing over to the HCs,its NOT worth the money. Its MY opionion that I could have got very close to exactly the SAME performance with my HS kit if it also had a very stiff primary spring like the HC kit does.
Good Luck and keep us posted,
Bill

WELL THAT SUCKS,
I ordered it awhile ago and forgot about it until it got here.
I called Randy yesterday and he assured me it works great,he also made sure I was putting it in an HO because it's tuned for it.
What color spring did you end up with?He sent the Gold(yellow)
one and said to use that if your heavy(is 210 heavy)and stock spring
if not.
And NO I havent had a clutch kit on before.
I'll keep you posted
THANKS

Duse,
dont get me wrong,I think the clutch kit would be allright for you because you have not yet invested in a clutch kit and than decided to go with the HC kit.Its a WASTE of money if you do it like I did.I was told that the Xplorer had a HC kit exclusivly for ITS use.I found out later that my Xplorer was used as a Guinie pig,as MANY problems arose from the installion of this kit for lack of ACTUALLY have trying one on an Xplorer.I dont like the high engagement speed and wished I never invested in this waste, but its to late now.The Hot Seat kit felt allmost as agreesive as the Heel Clickers kit and it took off at a more normal engagement speed. If Randy has ACTUALLY tried this kit on a HO,than give it a try and tell us what you think?I used so many differant primary springs in my clutch kit,I forgot which one is in there now, sorry.
