I was trying to decide raptor, or grizzly 2002's. I wanted both, but thank god i decided to go for the grizzly. The greatest bike out there. So nice and comfortable, but so fast. My buddies and I planned on getting 3 new 2002 raptors. My once buddy jumped the gun and bought a left over 2001. Rode it and love it, but My other buddy and I decided that we would get more use out of the grizzly. Definitely the right choice. CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO SNOW!!!!!!!

Totally satisfied. I dont see myself buying something new for years. That is, as long as it holds together. I have a few pictures of it but not many. 2 with 27" tires. The rest are side by side stock with a lifted 500 AC with the same 27" tires.

Well the Grizz is definitely the right ride for the rough and nasty stuff, and anytime there's work to be done. But for sheer riding joy and adrenaline there is just no beating a hot sport quad. Oh the Grizz will get your heart pumping, but, it is just not the same as a DS-650 or a Raptor pushing the laws of physics and the limits of adhesion. My favorite ride is my DS, my son loves his Raptor. The Grizz is our work horse, our support, rescue amd exploration vehicle, our loaner for friends. It has enough juice to ride with the hotties, the Sportsman H.O. it replaced didn't.
Having to choose would only be a little tuff...The Grizz is not the star in this garage, but it is damn nice having it around. Choose both.

I love my grizz, the pure speed it has compared to most other ultility atv's.
the ride is smooth and responsive, easy to swing around in the tight trails and such, the locking differencal is great, my one gripe is they put so much into a complete over haul ground up new model grizz, and they put these lame tires on it! one would think that yamaha would wake up and put some tires on it that can do something. on trails they get job done, but in the deep stuff they clog up and u get buried. now i have to get after maket tires, vamps, or something along thoses lines.... anyone else find the tires to wimpy for the mud? and what tires did you change too?

Widetrack Grizz
Here's a pic of a widetrack Grizz. Spidertrax and Douglas wheels keep the rubber side down. We rolled that skinny tire set-up day two. Track has increased from a measly 43.5 inches to 49". This is the way it out to be with this much power. More pics? Widetrack - Front of Grizz Yes, those are the stock rear tires in front.
