The dealership that I'm getting my 2002 Raptor called me today and told me that my blue 2002 Raptor has just arrived. I'll be picking it up Saturday because the dealership is about 2 hours from my house. I'll be in break-in mode, but I'll give everyone a ride review on Monday.

I picked up my 2002 Raptor on Saturday October 13, 2001 and paid $6200 OTD from Deming Cycle Center. I must say, this machine is a beast. As soon as we got home, we hit some small dunes and minor hills just to test it out and not run it too hard. I’ve ridden a 2001 Raptor and they handle almost identically. I definitely think a wider a rear axle is a must and will be one of my first mods. When I rode the 2001 Raptor, I did notice the gear spacing problem between 1st and 2nd gear and the issue seems to be resolved with the 2002 model. I need to do some tweaking to the rear suspension because the rebound is set a little too fast for me and threw me forward a few times through some rough woops. Overall, the bike has an awesome feel to it. The stock power is amazing. I would recommend the Raptor to anybody who wants some serious power and extremely good handling. It’s an awesome trail rider and climbs hills with ease. As far as differences between the 2001 and 2002 models, they are minimal. You can’t go wrong with either machine.

Thanks, Hextern! Sounds neat. I need to shop around some more...dealers here are way too damn expensive. Let us know more about your 2002 as you ride more. Hava good one!
