Snorkel Problems again
#1
I'm having problems with my snorkel. It ran fine for a while. Now i have to have it on choke in order to run it alright. My snorkel is made out of 1 1/2 pool/spa hose and i had to cover the mouth of it cause it was getting too much air. Now it runs on choke with the mouth covered but when i take it out of choke it will stall out. I forget does choke give it more air to start. I'm stumpt on this one. One more thing everything is snorkeled including the carb hose that has the T on it and were it use to run up i added a longer hose to snokel above my handlebars but left the tube that hangs down by the rear drive shaft. Will water enter that and into my carb cause i recently have been stalling under water and am wondering why. Any replies will be helpful and sorry its so long.

The choke shuts off the airsupply to the carburetor, leaning the fuel mixture at initial startup.
From what I gathered from reading your post doesn't make sense in the fact that it ran fine for a while and then it started acting up. And the size hose that you are using doesn't seem to be excessive to me, so I don't think that is where the problem comes in.
Did you install the carb. vent line extensions before it started cutting out?
I would check first to make sure that the carb. vent lines aren't stopped up and that you are running a large enough line as an extension, because that would cause the symptoms that you describe. Try running the machine with the carb. vent extension off. If it clears out, you need to use a larger line or shorten it.

Ok i'll try your idea in a bit. Didn't have work today its raining here. But ya it would run but then when i put it on choke it runs perfect. But the mouth of the snorkel is more then half way closed. Alright i'm gonna go and try some stuff out with it and get back to you later.
