i have a 1995 blaster and i was riding it when i missed a gear all of a sudden and reved it so high that i broke of the exhaust skirt on the piston. I rebuilt it and it runs great but it wont idle. I have adjusted the screws and everything. it seems stumble if you lower the rpm and then it just dies. if you keep it reved a little it will run fine. I then took the reeds out and they are not chipped or missing or anything but none of them are laying flat. they are all sitting open just a little bit, is this normal?

They are suppost to be flat against the reed body, standard practice is to turn them over and if they are worn out get a set of boysen.

I would be willing to bet that you need to clean out the carb. Specifically the idle jet located at the bottom of the intake side of the carb (where the air filter connects). You'll need a narrow straight slot screw driver. Always take out and clean all of the jets. It'll pur.
