iced up winch

will a winch cover prevent ice build up on winch cable? i play alot in the snow no heat in garage thanks for any recomendations.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

Foneguy, Here's a few tricks.

Spray your cable with WD-40 next time.
Just a little cap full of Heet if it's already frozen and you can get to the cable.
Hang a light (with a hook) on the front for a little while.

Don't use a torch
Don't put the hanging light under the ATV, you may short out when starts to thaw.

You can also just release the free-fly latch, pull it out and run it back in.

well that sounds good ill give'em a try, got it thawed with a hair drier, will covering the winch prevent ice build up? im new to the winter atving, had motocrossers b4, thanks 4 the advise [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
