I will be installing the big gun exhaust and the k&n jet kit today. I am leaving the stock filter for now. What size jetting are guys with a similar setup running. I live at about 6000 feet, but mostly ride at around 4000 feet. I am going to jet it for the lower altitude. I did this with my raptor and it runs great. It is a little on the rich side up here, but down at the lower altitude it screams.

Anyway, I am also wondering what the difference is in jet kits. I have seen people reccomend the dynojet stage 2 kit. I just looked at mine and it says stage 1 and 3. Does this make sense, or is something missing?

the different stages, is just for the different stages of performance mods. ie, with kn filter,open exhaust, etc. you really shouldn't get too much out of it without going to a freer flowing filter. you should have received instructions with the kit telling which jet and clip position to start with at the different altitudes and performance mods, they are pretty accurate. if you didn't receive the instruction go here dynojet and if you are still wondering about the different stage levels go here dynojet stage description

 

I did get the instructions and I just thought it funny that I hear people say stage 2, when the jet kit says stage 1 and 3. According to dynojets site it is the only jet kit available for the DS.

I guess people just misspoke when they said stage 2.

I plan to go to the carb mount K&N air filter very soon. I will probably order one on monday.

are you sure you are not confusing the stage 2 kit, as in the ron woods stage 2 kit?

Let me know how it runs and sounds. I wish I was there to give you a hand but, I am taking Heidi out for dinner tonight.

I got the go ahead to get a ds, and im pretty excited. I'll wait until spring/summer and try and get a good deal on one. I probably will sell the 250x and give Heidi the 400. Anyway, keep an eye open for a good deal.

Definitly plan on Memorial Day weekend for the dunes.Maybe one weekend inMarch or April.

I am going to make a trip before march that is for sure. Would you be up for a trip sooner than march?

I am in need of a dune trip. One weekend every few months is not enough to feed the addiction.
