I have a '96 warrior and i am gettin ready to replace the bearings in the rear end. How hard is it? I have a manual that shows how to do it but will i run into a lot of problems? About how long does it take? Thanks a lot.

Funny you should ask - I just did mine. Here are a couple things I learned:

1) When tapping the axel out side-ways (mine was kinda stuck on the inner races because of rust) put the wheel hub/washer/nut back on the axel and use a 7/8 socket over the nut to pound on (instead of the axel itself).

2) If the old bearings seem stuck - unbolt the carrier from the swingarm and attack it from a better angle.

3) Before installing the new bearings, put the carrier in the oven and warm it somewhat - not hot - warm. Put the bearings in the freezer. They drop right in without pounding. Also, before install, put a thin layer of grease on the outside of the bearing so it doesnt rust up.

4) Put a layer of grease on the middle of the axle (between where the bearings ride). This will help keep rust from forming which makes axle removal difficult - been there.

Hope this helps.

Ooops - almost forgot. The Yam shop wanted $40 per bearing....I ordered mine (sealed bearings) from www.rockymountainatv.com for $7 each ! They appear to be good quality. Shop around.
