Honda Foreman 450S Snorkel Problems
#1
Test ran the Foreman today after installing the 1.5" twin hose/dual snorkel setup. The it doesn't have that snappy throttle response and backfires when accelerating. I can put the choke on and things smooth out. I suspect that it is lean due to the additional air inlet to the air box. If so, what should be my first jet to try when I replace the main jet. The carb is stock and I live at 3800 ft. elevation. Please help as this thing sounds and performs as if its very sick! Pics of the snorkel setup are in my phote at Yahoo. Address is in my signature.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I looked under the other posts on this subject and could find none that stated what the stock main jet size is. I talked with the parts guys at the local Honda shop and he stated a size 130 is stock. On one of the other post a guy put restriction plates in his snorkle and it fixed the problem with running lean. As a test, I bought and installed some PVC reducers (1.5" to 3/4"
and tried these on the end of the snorkels. The Foreman now runs good on the low end - midrange without backfiring. From the mid range to wide open it sounds like it is missing every other stroke. I assume that this would mean that it is starving for air during these throttle settings. Should I replace the high speed jet or try moving the e clip on the main needle valve? Does any of this make any sense. Please Help!!!!
