I just recieved a new crankshaft and a main bearing and seal kit for my 91' suzuki lt250r. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on installing or removing old bearings or the old crankshaft. I know my manual says you need special tools, do you actually need these "special" tools? While I am replacing my main bearing I want to replace any other bearings in the crankcase that I can. What other bearings are there other than the counterbalacer?

Any tips or tricks on doing this would be very helpful.

thanks,

chuck

Your old bearings should have stayed in your case halfs. I usually just tap them out with a brass punch. Then tap the new ones in with a huge socket. Put the crank in the freezer for the night. Pull it out and assembly when it is still very cold. Should slide right together.
