just recently i took my 400ex to the dealer near me to see why it would not start and they said it was a bad flywheel key, and that it would cost over $700 to fix it.

IS THIS RIGHT????????????

WTF IS A FLYWHEEL KEY?????????

AND WHAT DOES IT DO??????????

 

A small piece of metal that keeps your flywheel from spinning on the crankshaft.

Go HERE and look at part number 7. That is your $2.44 key.
You must have damaged something or your dealer is trying to rape you!

More than likely if your flywheel key is damaged so is your flywheel and or crank. I would find out more details.
