I did a search for this, but was unsuccessful. Does anyone have an idea how fast the DS can do 0-60 MPH?

Also, would the DS be ahead in any part of a drag race against a crotch rocket like the Honda 600F4i?? I know it wouldn't at the end, but how about at the beginning when it has more traction?

Thanks.

Hmm. I don't know but I would say 0 to 60 times are going to be similar to a fairly fast car like a Mustang. I've seen some videos of Banshees drag racing against Mustangs and they were pretty close. The crotch rocket will kill any quad.

Traction is not a concern on a crotch rocket, at least in a drag race, so the DS has no advantage there. I've raced a few crotch rockets, and always gotten the hole shot, only to be caught in less than 100 feet. Considering an open class bike will do 10 second quarter miles in stock trim, at over 130 MPH, it's not much of a race. I only got the jump because they wheelied easier than I do.

I would have to say that the Ds could do 0-60 in about 5 sec. Because in the ATV action mag thier Baja ran the 1/8 mile in 8.98 seconds. My 87 Mustang's fastest 1/8 mile was an 8.67 and it does 0-60 around 4.8 seconds or so. I would figure a regular Ds to run the same if not a little quicker than the Baja in the 1/8 mile because of less weight. So I figure low 5 second times like around 5.2-4 or so. I am wanting to get a g-tech and hook it up to my DS to see what it says my 0-60 is. Also A four wheeler would jump a street bike right off the line. Because the 4 wheeler is stable. You can lean up on the front end and dump the clutch. A street bike rider has to keep his feet down when he takes off and they have to slip thier clutch more while taking off. But it wont take any time before the street bike shoots by you like a rocket. When I say take a street bike off the line I mean for a very short while.

Thanks for all the informative responses. A lot of my friends and even I were wondering what the 0-60 time was.

Hightower, I would really like to see your link too, but it doesn't work.

"C:\TEMP\Truth Exposed - Page One.htm"

This would be a link to a location on Hightower's PC. I think you're in need of a web link, rather than a link to a file on Hightower's PC.

Near as I can tell, you were trying to point people to MarkyNark's website

The Mustang is in the small picture, though it does have a caption. The Mustang is difficult to see as well.

The funniest thing about the Picture of the DS racing a Mustang is that they arent even racing. The Mustang hasnt even staged yet and the guy on the DS is just sitting thier staged up allready waiting for the Mustang. Plus look at the smoke around the Mustang. He just got out of the water box doing a Burnout.
