I cracked my stock 300ex swingarm!
#1
I was wondering if anyone has done this.Mine cracked at the bottom of the rear right where the round housing part it.It is cracked pretty good.I have the money to buy a new one.But my dad wants me to leave it alone. He is a sheet metal worker by trade so he weld stuff really good.He wants to weld it.I have the money to replace and I told him I could buy him a new one and a new A-arm tommorow whenever service honda opens.
I guess he is just mad.But I don't understand why he doesn't want me to buy him new stuff?

If he welds it make sure he anneals it as well or you will have the same problem but worse. Even if he anneals you most likely will have the cracks reappear and worse annealing will give you some more time that is all. Buy new.

Well I doubt I will ever be riding it again. And my dad rides at oike 5 mph and doesn't jump.So I think welding it will be fine.
I feel really bad.He bought this bike new and has rode it maybe 5 hours. And I tore it up pretty good. Now I have the money to try and make it up to him but he won't let me.He wants me to finish my R.

Just buy a new one. I had the swingarm crack on my old Mojave and by the time I got back to my house the only thing left was the left part where the bearing carrier is. Then it took 6 months for Kawasaki to get the swingarm to my dealer.
