I was thinking about the thread discussing what the worst mod you ever made to your DS. I noticed that alot of people including myself listed the Big Gun exaust as their worst mod.
If you have already replaced your Big Gun system, what did you buy to take its place? How do you like the new exaust you have?
If you havent replaced it yet but are thinking about it, what exaust are you leaning towards?

I have the big gun currently, and performance wise I like it. It is loud, and that is ok with me.

I hate the finish. It is dull and rusting all over the place. It is only 2 months old. The fit was good, but it does leak a little at the joints and I dont like that.

If I were replacing it today, I would look hard at the yoshi pipe, I have heard good things about it, but have never seen it in person. My next pipe to look at would be the graydon, and then the ct. I think those seem to get the most praise around here.

I am not going to be replacing it anytime soon, because it was hard enough to get the wife to let me buy it in the first place. I think some mothers polish will do it some good, I will be trying that pretty soon.

I think Big Gun was trash too. We replaced it with the modded end cap. just as fast just as loud. My ct has lasted much longer and with a little mothers it will shine like new.

I'm on my second big gun and other than fit was happy with the first pipes performance but on bigger jumps it was hitting the swingarm. The second fits very nice and the performance is the same as the first. Bat, if you have a ceramic coated pipe the mothers chrome and aluminum polish is a must to keep your pipe looking good. I prefer to go over mine with steel wool to give it the brushed look, just me though. More on the pipes, Big Gun race pipes are loud so they are not for noise sensitive areas. The reason I stayed with big gun is after I called and complained that the pipe ( 2 yrs old ) was not clearing the swingarm on big jumps they sold me a new complete system for dealer price ( I saved 2 bills ), I then sold my old pipe for 2 bills and yes the guy that bought it was warned about the clearance . If big gun would have told me I was going to have to pay full price I would have gone with CT because they were very good to me when I rode 250r's and I know they stand behind their product, but after 2 yrs I don't think many aftermarket companys would warranty their product. I seal my pipe joints with permatex copper high temp sylicone and let it set up at least over night, longer if I can.
