Hey,

looking for some cheap fun and noticed in my bargain trader a: Honda Odyssey - frame and motor - some fire damage - $100. (no year mentioned)

it's cheap and obviously needs a lot of work. but then again, it's like building your own from scratch. you get to use all the parts you want to use.

problem is, i'm on a serious budget. so not a lot of money to go crazy with. i know more info about actual condition would be good. but from the above info, would you say it's worth it? how expensive are parts? how difficult are they to work on? how capable are they as trail rigs when it's finished?

if your choices came down to building this or getting a Warrior for $1000, which would you pick?

honestly, they look like they'd be a blast. like a go-cart with a 4wheeler's suspension and motor.

anybody got a few picks? i saw one or two of the Pilots. do they look like the Odyssey?

thanks,
bigmac

Go for it, even if you do nothing with it part it out on e-bay people pay good for odyssey parts, or rebuild and sell either way its a win situation for you

i would do it but if you buy all new parts youll be broke before you know it. since theyre out of production which you probably know the prices are higher. just go to a dealer and ask for a.... bottom seat=200 bucks. so i would try to find good used unless you win the lottery. yes theyre a lot of fun but ill presume the one your reading about is a 250 and they have no rear suspension. whats your email, ill send you pics of mine

Hey,

yea, expensive parts ain't cool. lol. and no rear suspension could be a little rough on the ol' bottom end.

but pics would still be cool if you have a min. my email is bigmackloud@yahoo.com

if i bought it to part out, which parts are generally the ones needed most? i would need to check to make sure those were in sellable shape.

later,
bigmac

i just sent you the pics, any part of an odyssey you can asily sell as long as its in ok shape. check that they are. the most needed are the frame, engine, carb, clutch gas tank (look inside and see if its rusted), seats and exhaust.

The '77 to '84 Odyssey's are 250cc with no rear suspension. The '85 has rear suspension, front brakes, electric start, reverse and a 350cc motor. For $100, I would guess it is a 250. You can usually find a running 250 for around $1000.
