Rebuilt crank?

I was reading the back of Dirtwheels and saw an ad for a local guy that rebuilds crankshafts. What exactly is done and whats an usual price?

I'm sure there are different ways to split the crank but I think one way (for an R crank) is to cut the pin and rod and press out the pin pieces. Then a new rod, bearing, and washers are installed. The R cranks are more of a pain because of the tin surrounding them. Both sides have to be lined up perfectly also.
I pay $45 plus the cost of the rod kit.

Thanks retro! It looks like I will be doing this instead of buying a whole new crank. Has anyone dealt with MP racing? Whats their turn-around time like? Oh and what is trueing your crank?
