I want more overall performance from my 99 sp500. I do plow with it rarely, mostly its used for trail riding and mudding. Has anyone cluched theres and how was the result? What brand did you use? I`ve heard stories about installing pipes and clutching them and they were worse than new. Also If anyone has installed a pipe what brand was it? Did you like it? Thank you

 

I have a 99 Sportsman 500cc.I have a Erlandson clutch kit on it.It raises the engagement rpms and grabs the belt harder.I would recommend the kit they install on snowmobiles called ''HEEL CLICKERS''.It is a more effetive clutch kit.As for the pipe?Save your money.I know a few guys that installed the pipe and they tell me to SAVE my money,it aint worth it.Go with the clutch kit though.====BILL

 

I agree Bill, I put in the AAEN clutch kit for higher engagement, and that was a good improvement. I bought the pipe for the 00 500 SP and ended up putting the stocker back on. Had the same speed, but the noise from the pipe led me back to stock.
