I just had a new belt put on and it squeaks in nuetral. When I put it in drive it wants to go. The belt in obviously to tight. The mechanic(back yard) told it just needs to break in. Sound like bull to me! How do I adjust? Same as car belt? Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to bring back to him,I want to ride now! Thanks

Hey Ferd, I am taking it the clutch kit was installed on a used setup. That would explain alot. Proper belt deflection is 1&1/8 to 1&1/4 inches. lay a good straight edge across the entire belt top and lightly push down on the middle of the belt. if it is less than 1&1/8 inch, then something is not right. Make sure it is the right belt first. If it is, you will have to remove the secondary clutch, separate it, and add shims one at a time until you reach the desired goal. One shim MUST always be left in place. One of these should fix you up. Hope this helps, Bubba
