Okay folks, I really need to know this, and soon.
The 03 spec is posted on the Honda site for the New Rubicon and Rincon
and no mention is made of Traxloc on either.
I live out in the sticks, some of you good folk must have contacts that know this.
Has the Rubicon 03 model got Traxloc or not?

Best wishes and thanks.

I called a Honda dealership and asked that same question. They said that the 03 Rubicon does not have traxlock. I am still holding out for it on the 03 Rubicon cause Honda would have trouble selling the remaining 02's if everyone knew the 03 did have trax lock. Anyone else know anything about this?

Doesn't look like it. You might want to consider one of the 3 "unlockers" on the market now.

Do you think Honda would post false information on their website to trick their customers? I wouldn't think so.

Well, after doing a full day's work on my 450ES, I reckon I'm going to hold on and see what 2004 brings. I am not going to change a perfectly good ATV for another that has a permanently locked up 4wd system. I cannot understand what wisdom was at work as to why Honda did not put Traxlok on the 2003 Rubicon. It appears the Rincon doesn't have it either. As a farmer, I deal with all types of surfaces but tyre wear due to scrubbing when working on hard surfaces, and a huge turning circle, is becoming very annoying . The next ATV I buy will have a switchable system, whoever makes it. Fitting an aftermarket locker is not an option for me as shipping the parts to and from the US would cost me a small fortune. Sorry Honda, you've lost a sale for this year.
Hello Honda, are you listening, Hello, Hello, how the hell do you contact them anyway?
Thanks to all who commented.

Sometimes manufacturers come out with a late release, or a "1/2 model" (i.e. 2003 1/2). It's possible that Honda may have something in the works, but just isn't ready for the market yet. Hey, it could happen.

I'm gonna go ahead and make what Honda should have. I am buying an 02 Rubicon this weekend anf my traxlock kit from DortyHowies is on order. I'll post a ride report on the Rubicon with traxlock/in 2wd when I get it installed. I was holding out for Honda to do this for us with the 03 Rubicon.

I recommend to anyone wanting to retrofit a front end unlocker the Genuine Honda parts that I used. I got mine from Mussleman's Honda, Tucson Arizona. If you want more info on this package call Mark at Musslemans. He might ship em to you 520-622-7491 . Major changes in top end (added 7 mph) better gas mileage and whoa, far better handling too!
