Will a dealer let me?
#1
I was just wondering when I buy a used quad, will the dealer let me be there since Iam under age. Bcuz I would like to be there when he's going over everything. I know I can't get it in MY name. But isn't there like a pink slip or something where I can put it in my name when I turn 16??
Thanks.
Thanks.

This depends on the dealer.
We for one, do not sell any quad over 90cc to anyone under age 16 whether the person is there or not. Usually you can tell if the quad is for the person picking it up. Alot of dealers get flack from this, but when you are one of the biggest dealerships in the state, you don't take chances.
We would rather lose a sale than be tagged with a $5,000.00 fine and attend classes at Honda. This is what happens when you get "shopped" by one of them and they realize that you intend on selling it knowing that it is for a child under age 16.
Alot of delaers could care less. There is one less than 20 miles from us who does this day in and day out, and he's been lucky so far, but he has only been there for 1 year thus far, so his day is coming.
But on the same token, I only know of a few within 100 miles who would take a gamble on this.
If you aren't sure about how strict your dealer follows the age guidelines, check with some others who have dealt with him.

All I can say it must be nice to have parents who will even consider buying you a quad let alone worry if it's in your name. Also I would't be there when your parents get it because it is NOT to be sold to ANYONE under age. They shouldn't even hint that it is for you .By the way what size quad are they buying for you.And furthermore I hope you show your gratitude by doing a whole lot of EXTRA chores around the house. My parent made me work for mine, that don't seem like the new thing to do these days. If I were you I would go out right now and wash my parents car or cars no matter how many they have. Heck I would even offer to wash their parents car,and if that made them happy I would rake the leaves, sweep the driveway(even if it's dirt) and what ever else I could do. P.s. I bet you don't show this to your parents!
All in fun, not trying to be smart, but consider showing your thanks.

I was looking at a quad at a dearlership and not thinking let the secret out that it was for my son (who was under 16) and the dealer said that he would not sell it to me if there was even the remote chance of my son riding it.Said he could get into a lot of trouble.Hope this helps.
