i have read all the other topics..but i still can't really decide on which to get. i'm about 5'10 135-140 lbs. The quads i am looking at are the yamaha warrior, banshee, and raptor. i think the raptor would be too powerful for me..but my friends say no? i'll mostly be trail and sand riding. any advice? thanks

If you are doing a lot of trail riding, under 25 MPH, I think that you would like a 4-stroke motor. So that would be the Warrior or Raptor. Besides it sounds like they are going to ween out the 2-strokes by around 2004. But if you are looking at the Banshee, I think that you would have no problems with the Raptor. I don't have a personal experience, but I would think that the Banshee will take off quicker than the Raptor being that it is a 2 cylinder and a 2 stroke.

You also could look at the Suzuki Z400, Honda 400EX, and Bombardier DS650. Unless you REALLY want a Yamaha. I have a friend that is about your size and loves his Bombardier.

Good Luck!

My personal opinion is... I'm not crazy about two strokes (just too much wrenching involved) and the warrior will disappoint you because of the lack of speed. The banshee is fast as hell, but the raptor is also. I would consider the raptor or the new Z400. The "z" is suppose to be an awesome "all around" quad! I have the raptor and it does everything I could hope for and more. I love the damn thing!!!
