They are pretty much identical (except for the VIN number). You will find that the CDI box is different. The 49 state model has slightly more advance. I have found the 49 state box good for stock or near stock machines while the California box seems to work better on a built machine.

By the way, I am currently testing a plug in CDI that will make your day!!

Excellent Raptor720,

Please do tell more.

So will it be worth it to me to purchase a 49 state CDI or after market CDI with my current mods? Will I notice a difference? TIA

I will be able to tell you more about the new CDI in a few days. It will work on a stock or full mod machine. You can program it on a laptop.

Sounds great. Will this be a rich mans only kind of thing? Or will it be within the poor mans reach? TIA

Less than $400 -- much less!

Here are a couple of more carrots >>

It will drive a common 4 cylinder tach
It can light a shift light (set to any rpm)
It has other optional connections for NOS or other things
ETC.

WHOO HOO!! That's great Raptor720!! I've been trying to figure out how to hook up a shift light. Shift points are very important in Sand Drags (we run Indexes) & having a shift light would help me post more consistant times.

Keep us informed!!
