I need help. How do I remove the rear axle on a 99 Sportsman 500 from the trans? Do you have to take the trans apart or just pry it out?

Its IRS right, so you have 2 axles halves. I have in the past on my Kind Quads just yanked them out. I don't know if this is the proper way but it never hurt anything.

They pop out of the trany spline with a good thump. There is a snap ring on the axle that snaps into a grove in the spline. Buy a shop manual - its worth it.
