owners of blue wolverine,please read

hi, I'm from Montreal Canada and I just bought a blue wolverine 2000 3 months ago. My problem is that the plastics start to turns white at many places. I would like to know if other people have the same problem. Is it cover by the Warranty. Yamaha canada are apparently aware of the problem but they don't want to cover it with the warranty.

I have A '00 Kodiak with the blue plastic and have the same problem. I showed the dealer and they also told me Yamaha was aware of it,they told me Yamaha does not want to replace the plastic right now untill the problem is solved, because it will just do the same thing. They did tell me how to get the colour back take A heat gun and slowly heat the affected area moving back and forth slowly be carefull not to overheat the plastic. What this does is gets the pigmentation back to the area I tried it and it works to some extent, while it is no cure it sure helps the looks in the meantime.Another suggestion is make sure you get documentation from the dealer that you showed them you had this problem while the bike was still under warranty.

The Blue plastic can be fixed with a heat gun. You must very carefully heat up the plastic from both sides and it will take out the white color. This is not the best of repairs, as it may tend to dull the finish, but if the plastic is all scratched anyway it looks lots better. You will see the white turn blue again as it heats up. I do this on my wolverine and banshee.
