Source for Twin Air System (Kit with all the cleaning stuff) ?
#1
Anyone have a source for the Twin Air System? Rockymountain has them on backorder for another month or so and Dennis Kirk had no idea what I was talking about.
Here is how twin air describes the kit.
"This High performance airfilter maintenance kit (The Twin Air system) consist of Liquid Power filteroil, Liquid Dirt Remover filtercleaner, Cleaning Tub/Cage, Oiling Tub, Contact Cleaner and Gloves."

Just clean filter with mineral spirits, then dish washing liquid & water, hang in front of fan & let completely dry, and then finish off with either Maxima FFT, or PJ1 FFT. It is a good idea to use waterproof grease around edges or sealing point.

I ordered the Twin Air Maintenance Kit from Rocky Mountain ATV, obviously before they went back ordered. I also ordered the Twin Air air filters, but they went back order forever, so I cancelled them. I found the air filters at Dennis Kirk, and they shipped right away. The "Maintenance kit is just a couple of tub?s "which the Prairie 650 filter really doesn't fit into anyway" And the Liquid Dirt Remover and Filter Oil. I like the Liquid Dirt Remover and especially the Filter Oil. It is very fluid at first, so that you can work it easily into the filter. Then later it becomes very tacky so that it won?t drip. It is also colored blue, so that you can easily tell that you have coated the filter completely. The tub?s provided in the Maintenance Kit are usable, but I wish the Prairie filter fit into them better.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll skip the kit for now and just get the cleaner and oil.
2fat4moto, what waterproof grease are you using? Is there a specific product you recommend?

All grease is water proof. The best to get is your common axle grease. I say this because you can buy it buy the tub real cheap at auto parts stores. You just need to put a little around the sides of the filter, just to make sure no dirt slips by.

I buy Bel-Ray because it is what the shop I use carries. Maxima makes it too. Not sure if PJ1 makes some, but any of the three is the only way I would go. Plus your local motorcycle shop has it & you will be in there anyway.
