I was wondering what mod's can you do to your wolverine to help make it faster and more of a sport machine. Or would it be cheaper to keep the wolverine stock and just purchase a used sport quad.

Isn't the Wolverine and Warrior motor the same?
If so the ALBA 400 kit costs about $1300 and takes the motor from 18HP to 30HP. Not to bad a deal.

If you've got an '02 Wolv you might consider an unlocker while you are thinking about a pipe and/or engine mods. you can go to 2wd or 4wd whenever you would like, which would be nice on the wolv. you might think about a pipe, cam, K&N, piston. soomething like that more than going to the 400 kit. thats just my $.02 , if you like being able to get in nasty stuff and still play, i think id take a wolv with a unlocker. you can get the unlocker from www.highlifter.com

Hey,

I was wolverine owner before I got my rappy. Wolverine was nice bike but not enough power for me and not fast enough so I got Raptor. If I was you I would contact with Mickey Dunlap (Four Stroke Tech) send your motor in and he will bore it to 500cc with Manaul shift for 2,500 bucks and you will be faster than 400ex and have the fastest wood machine in your area . I almost did that but I love to jump and Wolve was not made for that so I got sport quad. Unlocker would be awesome idea too! Hope this helps!

Take care
See ya,
Dusty

One thing to keep in mind if you buy a new sport quad, is buy one with enough power to begin with. 4 Strokes cost a lot of money to modd. I just recently got the Z400 and love the hell out of it. A raptor, DS650 or Dale would also be great. In the end you would probably spend less money and be happier if thats the kind of rideing you do now.

With all the mod's do you really get more top end speed or do you just gain acceleration. I know just stock it seems to need another gear. Also will just a pipe, filter, and jet kit make a big difference. I just hate to drop alot of money for the above mod's & new rims & tires and still not be happy. when a could get a used banshee for around $3000. The guy's I ride with have a Banshee, Z400, warrior, and raptor I do fine in the trails but in the sand they are faster and having more fun. Will what to hear if the unlocker is worth it. That would help the fun factor for sure. Also anybody ever tried to put sand tires all the way around, don't know if it would spin them, but sure would be wicked if it would.

Sounds like you want your quad to do things it was not made for. I've been down that road, and dumping a bunch of money into it is probably not what you want to do. If you'r going to be trying to keep up with Raptors and Z400's your best bet is a true sport quad. The Banshee is an execelent choice for that. It'll be the fastest of the bunch with just a few warm up parts for the motor.
