The cable on my winch wrapped itself on one side of the spool while pulling sideways. It eventually had no where else to go so it found its way between the spool and inside winch housing. The dude using my quad didnt know what he was doing until the winch cable took out the plastic seal and starting stripping gears until it simply wouldnt pull any more. I think the gears are probably ok, some stripping on the outer edge but I'm hoping that wont be a problem. But I do need the plastic seal for sure. Where can I find one, I hate to go the local dealer. Also do you think the stripping on the gear will haunt me later if I dont replace it??

 

There is a dealer called I.V. Redding, I believe they are in Louisiana. They can get you any Warn part. I got their number from warn, but I have since lost it.
