If you have water in your lights on your 2002+ model Arctic Cat then the fix is this:

-get both of them replaced under warranty
-get the quad home with both new lights installed
-remove both lights
-get some silicone and put it all along where the light makes contact with the casing
-also you will find a tab on the bottom casing of the light, keep tab on, put silicone on the tab and around the tab.

This should keep your lights from flooding with water. I did this last night to my 500i. Both my friends 400i's had this exact same problem and they were covered under warranty as well.

The AC's still having problems with water in the headlights? I remember that being a problem on the pre-2002 models, but I thought it was fixed on the 2002+ models? is it as bad as it used to be or have they improved it?

I don't know how bad the problem was before but its not that bad now. There is a little hole that a cap covers on the under side of the light casing, that cap comes off over time. So on the new ones I just put silicone on them.

sounds like a big improvement over the pre-02's. They really had a water problem...

I found that the light housing was craked at the mounting bracket. After replacing the bulb 2 times I removed it to inspect. I siliconed the snot out of it and it works fine. I must have pushed through to much brush and broke it.

I had the same problem and putting silicone on the hole where the tab is works, my light leaks no more.

I am glad that you all have dealers that are willing to take care of you and your machines.

As for me my dealer (Cattrax) just told me that AC told him that they would replace the sticker.

So I tore it apart and painted it with that chrome spray paint. That didn't work like anything, so I ended up buying another headlight.

They are about $50.

I now go to another dealer and they also fixed my master cylinder problem which he tried to rebuild (which wasn't the manufacture's approved method)

I forgot to throw in the fact that after I confronted him about the headlight and the fact that it should have been replaced he told me that he would talk to his local rep and call me back.

Of course I have never heard back from him. He said that the rep wouldn't consider reimbursing me for the headlight, but that he may give me some gift certificate type things so I could buy some AC Accessories.

Like I said, I have never heard back from him

Find a new dealership, even if its a little further away. Its going to be worth the service you get from a good dealership. My dealership shipped me 2 lights and I shipped them back the defective ones. Thats service.

bbertram, thanks for the advice and I have done just that. Had I done it sooner I would have avoided the headaches.

They were more than ambitous to sell me the AC, but didn't do squat when it came to taking care of me or my wheeler.

I just wish I would have bought my wheeler in Brookfield instead of Moberly. Course you know where the next one is coming from.
