The mixture screws will be set different for each Rap, especially from different dealers. Each dealer will set them up differently and you can expect to get a different aswer on the air/fuel mixture screws when asking a dealer what the initial settings should be.

As far as how far you can go before they fall out, why on earth would you want to know that? If you have to go more then 4 complete turns out, you have more problems then you think.

I didn't mean it to sound like that, but how far out and still have them working. I'm doing some intake+exhaust mods, and am close to sea level, so I figure I would need to turn them out some.

Even the shop manual doesn't tell exactly where to set the pilot screws. It merely say to set to the original settings after re-installing the carbs. The nominal setting on most quads is 1 1/2 to 2 turns out with adjustment from there. Pilot screw adjustment is only a fine tune adjustment on a correctly jetted engine anyway.

When I was,[still are, fine tuning], jetting my raptor to coincide with the air box mods I made, I called atleast 8 different dealers and got 8 different answers. I also have a shop manual and it says cabrb1[left]1 turn and carb2[right] .9. I got answers all the way up to 3and 3 1/2. Look at the post air fewl screws, or something like that, in here. It was only posted a few days ago. It gives the best possible way to adj. those things correctly. You can do it by ear but a vacuum gauge is the way to go. The most common answer i got was 3on the left and 2 on the right.

settings will vary from Rap to Rap. Tune it properly with a vacuum guage....mine liked (yard ornament now) 1 less turn on the left side.
