I am feeling like I understand the rut---
I am SO anxious for the cooler days and the fall colors
and smells.. now please understand... this is not a sex thing...
I just love the fall riding season... but it does feel like the rut...

Oct. 1 here in Indiana, been shooting the bow getting ready for the season to start. Can't come soon enough. Then in Nov, heading to P.A. for a week hunt as well. Can only get to the cabin by Quads as well....Should be fun.......

Man....some of you guys start bow season early......we dont start until Oct. I couldnt imagine sitting in a stand when it is 101 degrees here in Oklahoma. Come muzzleloader season, I am still in short sleeves.

I have to wait until Oct. also. Watching the outdoor chanel is killing me, I'm starting to see deer in my sleep. For the last month I've been out sticking the target almost every evening. I bought a new SQ2 after season last year and can't wait to take my first deer with it, I love this bow.

I have chronic buck fever, it never goes away. I love getting up in that tree and sitting with frozen toes. My wife doesn't see how that can be fun but it is.
Hoping to take one with my muzzleloader this year.
I about killed my wife and son when we were going up the highway and I saw the biggest buck I've ever seen running along the highway. I was watching the buck and not the road and almost ran into a car parked on the side of the road.

Why does it seem that the "fever" comes earlier and worse with each year?

Season doesn't start till mid Oct. here either, and muzzleloading at the end of the season in Dec. By the time I start coming down from hunting season, I start getting the fever for next season. I'm going to pick up some extra arrows and start practicing in Aug. Had a decent year last year but no big ones: 5 pt in bow, 3 pt. in gun and a doe in muzzleloading. What guns/ bows do you guys prefer...

PSE Thunderbolt: This bow is fast and lite/ small and has helped me a lot.

Model 700 ADL REM 30.06 w/ Leupold scope. I have no desire for another high powered rifle.

Knight muzzleloader/ wolverine- Great gun, accurate out of the box, killed a spike and a doe so far..

Good luck to all this upcoming season and be safe...
