Which one is it, do you spend all your time cleaning your ride or do you just ride it?

I fall in the middle[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I wish my kid was older[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]That is going to be on his chore list. I try to clean it before a big event, but i am no clean freak.

 

I'm the same way, the rain today did a nice job of washing the sand off.

 

Cleaner is always better but i find myself to be quite lazy after a time of riding. Having a cleaner machine always helps when doing maintence and repairs but owell the quad will stay dirty most of time time full of mudd and whatever i come across on the trails

 

I prefer to ride, I usually hose it off after a ride and then wipe it dry. But that is about it. I bought them to ride, not look good sitting there. I find they just get dirty again [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] .

P.s. I do however try to maintain them regularly. I am more **** about that then cleaning them.

 

I like it clean but not like toothbrush and Q-tip clean. I guess I just don't like it dirty. Sometimes I do just ride it.

I'm one of these guys who puts the quads weight issue over the power issue.

Lighter is better.

I spray the entire machine.....I mean the ENTIRE machine with Honda spray cleaner polish before I go riding anywhere. I don't wipe it off either.

Even while riding, mud just rolls off the quaud with vibration. After a ride, just a hosing gets the rest of it off. No scrubbing or pressure washing required. The polish also helps in the appearance factor.

Oh...I guess I don't spray the entire quad.....DON'T GET THAT STUFF ON THE SEAT.........LOL

I read in an article a few years back that a quad ridden on a loamy motocross track can easily gain 20+ pounds of dirt and mud. I figure if I can knock that figure down to 10 pounds....it's worth it.

I know that in hare scrambles, the weight of mud is even a bigger issue. I think I had 20pounds just on my helmet two weeks ago....LOL
