I've owned my ac 375 w/ winch for 8 mons., never had a problem with winch until today. I was going up a rain slick mountain trail with a 30- 40 degree incline and began spinning. When I hooked up my winch and began to wind in, my engine would go dead, even after reving the engine up, it still when dead whenever I began to winch. Any advice would be appreciated.

How is your winch hooked up? Do you have it wired directly to the battery? Who installed it?

The winch came from the dealership already hooked up. When there is not much load it works fine. It is 2500 lb winch.

It sounds like its drawing too many AMPs from your battery. What type of switch do you have for the winch? Is it the rocker style, or the twist style? Some of them come with a pistol-grip remote that people tie to the handle bars.

It may be a short in the switch.
