Rancher 350ES 4x4 / Top End
#1
Hey All
Any idea what the top end would be for a Rancher 350ES 4x4. I can get mine to about 52mph, (with my 6', 223lbs on it)on a paved road. I know I shouldn't go that fast on a paved road, but at our deer camp the trail from one property to the other one we hunt on is divided by a anti-hunter property and its a back road so its easier to drive them than load up the trucks. The ride is better once I hit the dirt road, but no better speed. I am not trying to set any speed records, but my son rides it more than I do and he wants to do some mods to it. I only use it for deer season so I dont want turn it into too much more of a noise maker, and he wants to bring it to the dunes in RI. Any suggestions on mods for the Rancher 350ES 4x4 are welcome. Thanx

filter and jet kit. a guy i know got 110km/h (69mph) out of his bayou 400, he did something to the clutch, it also had 27"backwater XT's, lead filled frame (for pulling-doubt it helped the top speed though. lol) but the exhaust was stock (not noisy)

The 2X4 Rancher is pretty quick, but the 4X4 has a reduction gear that slows it down a bit. We put on a FMF MegaMax pipe and K&N filter, which really helps performance. The pipe isn't outragiously loud if you don't run a whole bunch of discs.

I'll check into the pipes and intake. My son convinced me that the type of pipe shouldn't matter to me, cause when I need it for hunting, he'll switch back to the stock one till the end of hunting season. I guess he's takin it over (lol)and it wont be long before I have to ask HIM to use it.
Well, at least its getting more use than I would give it. As long as he rides safe and responsible, I told him he could do what ever he wanted to do to it. (I was 16 once............I think)He's always open to suggestions.
