Tuning with EGT on 2 stroke
#1
Hey guys!!
Anybody tune your bike with an EGT???
I have a 2000 scrambler that I am having built(440, billit head, etc) and was wanting to use one on it, but dont know where the temps should be on a 2 stroke.
Any ideas??
Thanks!!

Man, there really isn't a magic number. You can leave you house today and take it down the road while watching your EGT. Tommorow, if you try it again and don't give the exact same amount of throttle, have even a slight headwind, spin your tires more on take off, let off sooner, or any other variables, your EGT will read differently. Basically, tune your engine like normal and then use the EGT as an "idiot light" incase of sudden lean conditions due to temp, humidity, hard pull, or other factors.
