Well my 84 Honda 200s went dead in the middle of the woods and when I got home I checked if it had spark and it didnt. Well to my knowledge the coil is what makes the spark and if it went bad theres my prob. COuld you please tell me what else would stop spark and also is there a way to tell if my coil is good or not. Thanks alot in advance.

Last summer, here in SE Nebraska, we had about two weeks of unbeleivably humid weather. I left my old Honda 200 at another place of mine, about an hour away. I would attempt to start it and it would run, then the next time it wouldn't. I took off the CDI unit, cleaned all contacts and still no spark. I finally gave up, then for no particular reason, about an hour later attempted to start it and it started first pull. It worked well for about a month, then did the same thing. This year, it has run well all year no problem. I dunno, they seem touchy.

I have the same problem, 84 200s stopped running and has no spark. Checked plug cap and wire, all good. Took coil to dealer, he checked it to be OK. Replaced pulse generator (pickup under CDI cover) and still no spark. I checked the kill sw, and no probs there. I am all out of ideas.
thanks

A dead short will cause no spark too. I think most stators are about 100 to 300 ohms, but i dont have the specific value on yours.
If you live by a big library, go check out the 629.28 area in non fiction. There are alot of service manuals there, and seeing how old this one is, there should be one for it. If not, check with the librarian, they may be able to find you a copy, from another branch.
