ive raced local cross country races with my 250 TB. i have blown many struts but thats my fault. if youre racing extremely rocky tracks [like i am ] get some heavy duty springs or some aftermarket springs or struts from hotseat

I know you are looking for racer comments.
I do not race mine, but I will throw out my 2cents anyway.
The 250 Trailbazer is very Under powered. If you can afford to upgrade to a Scrambler, Sport, or 03 400 Trailblazer you will be much happier. Yes there are some nice aftermarket mods available for the 250 but still at best you are just above a stock 400 in performance at that point.
Don't get me wrong the trailblazer is a very well built machine, very reliable, and enjoyable to ride, as a basic touring type trail ATV, It is far from a race bike especially in stock form. With the 400 or 500 Scrambler(03 Trailblazer 400) you will get more power and better suspension.
If you are dead set on a 250 shop around for a nice used one, there are lots out there due to, like I said Under powered and people quickly out grow them. My wife liked hers untill she rode my 400 scrambler, Well I had to go buy myself a nice used 99 400 so I was no longer stuck on that 250.

Your Mojave is much faster than the Trailblazer in stock form. For them to be fun to ride you must put mods on them to wake them up.The mods are not thet expensive and real easy to do.I love the automatic for trail riding. It handles the bumps very well and has more clearance than most quads.I love my TB.May not be as fast as 400's but it is still fun to ride.Mine is a 2000 and to this date i have had NO problems.I do alot of trail riding and it gets beat pretty good but I also maintain it very well.It definately is no street race bike but i keep up with all the other bikes on the trail and even do better than them in some situations. No one needs to go 60mph in the woods.so a banshee would have nothing over my TB in the woods.

Had my trailblazer for 2 years. Nevertook an ounce of care of it. I was a stupid 12 year old, Still am stupid but i at least grease the zerks and oil the chain. Woohoo I change the oil too. It never even broke. I went through a-arms but that was a combo of real big rocks, a lot of jumping and bone dry pivots.

liftkit, I have to agree with Bubahyde, if it doesnt matter with the engine size, pick up a 99 and above scrambler or a 99 sport. they will have the concentric drive and will haul a$$ bone stock compared to a mildly modded 250. There is so much that can be done to the 400's, you will find yourself asking "when do I stop making it go faster" until there is nothing more you can do. The need for speed is overpowering. But if the limitation is 250cc, I would plan on spending some bucks just to make it go the way you want. Hope you find what you need.Bubba By the way, Springhill MS is having their last big race on the 12th or 13th of Oct. I might make it there. If you're not too far, you can see what some modded 400's will do.
