Default is the DS tippy?

I've heard that the DS is a great machine in many aspects and what most people consider the best. But this guy I work for says that they are much much taller than they look in pics, and are very tippy and unstable. I'm not sure if this is true. I know all you will say "no, no, they're not at all." but i'd appreciate your honest opinion and feedback! thanks fellas.

Ride one and you'll see he is full of it... I've tried putting mine on two wheels and it takes ALOT of effort! Better yet - ride one in off camber conditions and see how it performs...

The ds is stock 49.5" wide, that is the widest sport quad on the market, no one can support the aurgument that is is tippy.

To be short and sweet ,I hate a tippy bike , and that's why I love my DS.

Funny how a lot of Raptor riders are defending this one. So I'll chime in myself. The DS has got to be the most stable ride there is. Its the widest and longest I believe. Doesn't mean it won't tip over. Just ask my brother. It does mean it is very stable.

hehe, aite den. maybe i misunderstood this guy? i appreciate all of the feedback and now it's all much better. Another question of mine is the wandering of the front-end? Will an ordinary steering stabalizer fix the problem well? Thanks

Default is the DS tippy?

The '00 and '01 were "twitchy" steering wise, but never tippy. ( A Raptor is reeally tippy, till it gets at least a wider rear axle.)
.......The early DS twitchiness was best solved with replacement upper A-arms, like TimmyBoys. The '02s and the Baja got the new A-arms that fixed the front end just fine.
......They have tried to say it was the wheels and not the new A-arms that were the fix, but I am using my Douglas wheels off my '01 DS on my Baja and it does not "unfix" it. My old DS has the Baja wheels, a tach, Works shocks, TimmyBoys. I basically made a Baja out of it, then got a Baja anyway. A tricked out '01 is equal to a stock '02 or later.
.......I am even using the stock front shocks. But I do have a K&N, no lid, HMF slip-on, Bearman's heelguards and XCT's.
...... I think they were trying to avoid a recall and having to replace all the old DS A-arms. Same way Yamaha has avoided the Raptor tranny issue.
.......You can't go wrong with any Baja or an '02 or later DS-650 Everything that was wrong was redesigned and fixed. I haven't even heard of any fans going out in the later models either, which was a chronic problem with the earlier DSs.
