Default Timing chain rattle?

I seem to hear an excessive amount of timing chain rattle. You don't hear it at all when the RPM's are up, but hear it quite abit when the RPM's are low.

Is this normal? and if not, is there a way to adjust it.

Thanks for any help.

Default Timing chain rattle?

Is it an easy thing to check? Do I have to remove anything?

I saw a large bolt (plug) on the side of the tensioner on the cases, is that the place for checking?

Thanks,
Glenn

Default Timing chain rattle?

Har far does it compress?

I pulled mine out and it only compressed about a 1/16 or a little more.

Default Timing chain rattle?

When I say "pulled it out" I meant I removed it (sorry for the mis-interpretation).

If the inner portion sticks out of the outer portion about 1/2" inches, then it wasn't collapsed.

When I tried pushing it in, it only moved 1/16th of an ich using light pressure, I guess I need to push harder to make it collapse.

Is some timing chain rattle normal on these machines?
