Default SP 500 Start switch???

I traded up from my '00 Magnum 325 4 WD to a SP 500 last Summer. One thing I miss is the start switch (on the left handlebar on the 325). On the 500, I have to start the engine with the key (brake locked in, left hand on the key, right on the throttle... way inconvenient).

Does anyone here know whether there is a kit or some other adapter available to put the start switch where it belongs on my new 500?

By the way, that's the only complaint I have on this new unit, it's awesome!!!

Thanks!

Never heard about having to lock the brake. My 600, you just turn the key and apply some throttle if needed, no need to hold the brake.

I thought you meant it would'nt start without holding the brake. If you need to start the engine on an incline why would'nt you just use the foot brake and free up a hand?

Thanks again Snowride, good idea! Still puzzles me though, they screwed up a good thing IMHO.

I like the key ignition , most people that I know like it better then the push switch. If you need to keep the break on then lock the parking break, and turn the key. If you have to hold in the throttle to get your quad to start in and idle, then yor carb isn't adjusted right or you need to put the choke on. I have 2002 500 H.O and I never have to throttle it or even choke it in warm or cold weather. I just start it up and let it sit, it idles ruff for 30 seonds and runs smooth just letting it sit for 30 seconds not touching a thing.
