Default EBS on 03 Sportsman 400?

Anyone know if the 03 SP400 has EBS? I've heard the 500 H.O. does.

Don't think so. It can be added though. Personally I think it should be a standard feature for every 600lb+ belt-driven machine.

I was told 500s and up have it standard. dealer option in 400. I made that point with desert motorsports customer service man just today over phone.

I haven't ridden one with the EBS but it would make you think that there is not engine braking in the 400 - that simply isn't the case. In low gear the thing will crawl. You can feel the belt cut loose sometimes but a quick punch of the throttle locks it right back in. Granted I don't traverse steep mountains but have not seen the need for an increase in engine braking yet... time will tell.
