What size are P650 stock jets?
#1
Okay, I'm reallly confused. I have three keihin jets sitting here and I can't figure out which 2 I need to put back in the quad. They are 135, 142, and 138. I can't figure out which came out the the bike. the 138 and 142 have and K and the jet size on the side of the jets while the 135 has a K and 135 on the top of the Jet. Don't ask me why I have three, I know I only took out two (I suspect one of them is a dynojet), I'm jetting back to stock from a dynojet kit to lean it out for a dial-a-jet kit. Any help is appreciated.

Hey Thumpin, how are you doing.
Yes the 138 is from the front and 142 is from the rear the 135 could be from your DJ kit. You can look at the shape of the inside bevel where the needle fits to determine whose jet it is. A sharper slope will indicate a DJ jet and a flatter slope is the Keihin jet. How is the Dial a jets going?

From reading the info on dial-a-jet's web site, you need to go down
at least 3 jet sizes, and if you are going to be riding at high elevation ( above 8500ft)
you will probably need to go down 4 jet sizes. Please give us a report after you get yours
installed.
Going to install dial-a-jets myself in about a month.

Oxygen,
I run mine at centre on the dial at 2200ft with 142fr & 145r with extensive modds. They say run at lower settings but it isn't necessary. With the middle markings it doesn't add much to the fuel flow. Where it will be helpfull especially for Thumpin is he can set his jets at " 0 " run perfectly allright, put on his stealth exhaust drop down " 2 " notches on the dial and all it took was 2 minuits. If he intends to higher alivation then he can go up one notch adjust his air vents before he goes and he can change on the fly when he is at elivation the motor starts to run crappy. The next biggest thing is he can adjust his jets when he wants to modd his quad even further by the flip of a dial.

Thanks guys, I got it figured out. The keihins also have a groove on the side of the jet, the DJ's don't. I'm having it installed tomorrow and will ride on Sunday. I'll post a report next week. Hey alltoy-- I ordered the vents for the air box lid, thanks for all the help also!

Thumpin650, is it alright if I jump in here for Horseman.
Horseman,
The vents are from Thunder Products they are one inch square with a closable sliding top. I use 4 of these 2 positioned over top of the carbs the other 2 close by. They when in combination with mods or the dial a jets give a better air flow and allow you to close them when stream or mud crossing. They have an air filter as well to stop dirt from entering into the air box. Talk to Lon he is very helpful.
