I'm thinking about putting a cam and advance timing key in my 400EX....

it's all stock except for a K&N air filter, trimmed snorkel, larger main jet, and I removed the quiet core and spark arrestor from the exhaust...

has anyone done this? is it worth $159 for the cam, and $15 for the key from Curtis Sparks???

i have no experience with them,

but that seems a little high priced for a cam

 

You'll see a little power gain with the cam. They are usually installed with a higher compression piston, to get the best results. A Hotcam is around $125, with no core charge. You can get a JE 10-8.1 piston for $130, with all the gaskets needed.


I have no info to offer on the timing advance key. It's not a real popular mod.

 

I have that same setup and I have out ran many stock raptors, also another goody is to go down one on your countershaft..jmo
