Tires,tires,tires suggestions

The stock tires are about as good as you will find for a scrambler. Maxxis sur traks, dirt devils, itp spider traks and kenda bearclaws have good tread patterns. You need to stay with 22 inch so your front end isnt thrown off. I had carlisle trail wolfs on mine and have no complaints. They lasted through hell and barely ever went flat.

Not to just disagree here. But unless they have upgraded the tires on the 03 from the 02, those tires aren't very good. The rims are terrible. I junked mine on my 02 Scrambler. I bought Holeshot XCTs and mounted them on Douglas 190 rims. I ride down in the rocks in Tennessee. It made a big difference. I had two dings within the first 200 miles riding here in Michigan. After changing, I put another 2000 in Tennessee without another. It was worth it, at least for me.

Well you should go for the lightest strongest tires you can find for your riding style the reason i say this is because of rotational mass for every extra pound that is spinning is equal to 10 pounds on the bike I may be a little off but not too much. But if this does not matter to much which it maynot too you.
for toughest lightest would be holeshot Xct's they come stock sizes ,but not to good in heavier mudd
but are great everywhere else
next I think the new titan 489 6 ply nice tire of course they come stock sizes
I like bearclaws for where I ride good mudd tire good all round traction but a little harder to slide the rear around. In order to put them on all four tires you will have to jump a size all round 23's in the back 24's in the front ,they do come in the stock rear size too but not for the front so if ya want them all round you have too keep the ratio. but they are about 6 pounds heavier a tire or something like that so again it is what you want them for type of terrian. Oh dirt devils come stock size too not to sure about the weight.
If you are goin for the best performance you can get get rid of extra rotational mass that goes for the stock chain guard that spinning metal disk, and put aluminium skid plate there go light rims aluminium but not to light cause they won't be strong and go light tires.
Not that this is going to make a huge diff on a 550 pound bike but everything helps. but if you are just a trail rider this probley does not matter too much , Which it does not too me.
Anyway good luck with your tire choice. By the way I run bearclaws and really do not notice a diff in acceleration but on a timed run there is a few 10th's diff not to much

well it all depends on what riding u like to do, if its trails, mud, or water i wud go with ITP blackwaters, keep stock sizes just to be safe and keep performance but i have a friend that runs them on a 350x honda trike and has great luck with them in those riding conditions for a 2wd quad so it wud perform very well with a awd quad like urs. Need anything else ask or e-mail me.
Good luck, haz!

I run the new Titan 489 X/T's. Like Alpine said, they are a very tuff 5 ply tire. For where I ride, the stock 489 AT made it through everything I went through. I really enjoyed the way they rode. The X/T's are a little stiffer ride due to the stronger sidewall. I managed to tear a 1/4" gash in my old A/T's, so I had to go to a stronger tire. The X/T's come in the stock sizes and are the same price as the A/T's, so for me it was a no brainer. I would highly recommend them. They are a great all around tire
