Hey sfehr, nice info but I bet you wish you had the list that I have, the dealer's price list of everything you just mentioned Everything is price jacked way high from polaris. I laugh when I compare some of the prices.

Yeah in my little salesmans book it speaks about the profit potential on pure polaris parts.
Parts- up to 65% gross margin
Apparel- up to 53% gross margin
Accessories- up to 45% gross margin
Oil- up to 45% gross margin
That is the extent of my knowledge but overall that is damn good money they are making.

Like I've always said, regularily patronize your local dealer, and do your own "dealing" on prices. Be a smart shopper, but also realize someone must pay the bills, and the quality and fit of a factory engineered accessory is pretty hard to beat. Also dropping a case of their favorite beverage at the back door on a hot summer Friday also helps. Barley-pop, the best negotiator there is.

Usually its a few Crispy Creams and a few subs from Subway that'll get me what I need for a good price from my dealer. I just dont let him rape me We have always saved the Barley pop for the titty bar trips

When comparing how much a Polaris dealer makes, think about this. How much "profit" do you think all these mail order companies make off of us? It's at least as much if not more. Yes the dealer charges more, but he/she also pays more. The dealers (some of them anyways) are not out to "screw" the customer. Try walking into your local dealer and DON"T try to bargin on the price of something. Treat them how you'd want to be treated in their shoes. It'll go along ways for you. I know the guys at one dealership near me that treat the guys that don't "wheel and deal, bargin, or "jew" on the price better than the ones that do. Ever here of a company called "Wal-Mart"?. Can you bargin on their price? No. Support your local dealer, without him/her we wouldn't be riding. And yes, factory accessories tend to fit and work better than most others.

hey ive tried it both ways . but i get a better deal when i haggle with him . hey if you dont ask how will you ever know . but im also his guinea pig when it comes to tryin new stuff . if it works for me he passes it along to other predator owners . so we kinda help each other. hey ask at wal-mart sometimes on big stuff they will at least price match someone else .never hurts to try.

My local dealer in Oklahoma City is strange about giving out prices. I went in with a friend and asked for price on a sp600 and he told me MSRP, I asked him if they discounted any and he told me that he was not going to shoot me a price just so I could go and shop around, I thought that this salesman might just have a bad attitude and so I left and came back later and delt with someone else, I was told roughly the same thing the second time. Seems the only way you can get a price is to fill out all the paperwork and then they will "tell me what they have in it and what they can do about price". Why would I want to deal with this when there is 2 other dealers within 20 minutes that will sell polaris for dealer invoice? I like to suport my local business, as I am a small business person myself, but this nonsense is ridiculas.
