Default Sportsman 400 clutch kit and exhaust system

hey guys,

I have a Sportsman 400, and I want a little more power out of it. I wanted to get a clutch kit, and a exhaust system for it... I wanted to know what the best kind of kits I should get suitable for my quad.... if theres any other modifications I coud do to make the 400 faster and more powerful please tell me...

thanks

I find the Polaris board somewhat confusing, unless someone posts a question about and 800 or 700 no one answers. I asked a question regarding my friends Sportsman 400, no one answered. I see this guy asked a question and bumped it a couple of times no answer.

I guess the only way to get attention is put a subject like "MY SP800 stomped a Vinson"

Just last week I put a couple new clutch springs in my 400 Sportsman. A Polaris white primary spring and an Aaen blue secondary spring. I haven't ridden a lot since then, but so far it seems that the secondary spring has helped my backshifting and it works really well at slowing the quad when going down a steep hill. And with the white primary, I have a much better holeshot. Previously I couldn't even come close to lifting the front tires in low range. Now I can lift them a solid foot off the ground. A pretty good return for $45 in parts I think. If you do a search on 400 Sportsmans, there is actually quite a bit of useful info. I hope mine is of help to you.

Check out the clutch kits at Bikeman Performance. I just put one in my 700 and what a difference. This clutch kit is awseome. You can add weight to different areas of the weight itself to suit your style. I just put it on this weekend. Lots of low end and holeshot. I also have the WB Pure Polaris exhaust.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Do like Folger did and you will be happy.A pipe on a 400 4stroke doesnt help as much as clutching.
