Default Hey there LT80

We got a chance to try the juiced up LT80 today. Very impressive, I must say. Tough to get a real accurate gauge on speed as we still have a bunch of snow. She held her own against my Quadrunner 500 utility in short drags, LOL. One thing I noticed is at around 20MPH she seems to get an added burst of acceleration all the way up to 35MPH. Still... hard to tell though with the snow. So far so good. Also got the Torco GP7 today, had the dealer order me a gallon.

LT80 I put the DG pipe on today, works pretty well. One question, when I removed the stock pipe there was a little oil residue at the pipe connection to the motor. Sounds like I'm running a little too rich?

Glad you like the motor!
The oil thing is pretty common. This can vary with the type of oil used, jetting, premix ratio, etc.
I REALLY doubt your running rich. BUT allways do a plug check!!
Keep me informed plz.

bsb64, don't worry about the oil, the stock muffler had a drain in it, used to open that up a couple times a year, you should have seen all oil that dripped out!!! but it always ran good, so I never worried about it.

OK who has A arms to widen the front of an LT80? We had it out yesterday for the first time in somewhat dry weather. LT80 it is really fast! We still haven't gotten it up to top speed. The ground here is still saturated and the place we were riding yesterday still had puddles all over. Anyway I think we are going to get wider A arms and then probably go with the works shocks. Maybe something to widen the rear(spacers?)

Hey Jack....I pulled down the spring on the rear shock and lowered the ring and clip 2 notches. I was using a tie down ratchet strap and channel locks, LOL. Not a very effective method. Is there a better way to compress that spring? We rode today the motor absolutely screams, spacers work great(had to bend the plastic holder brace back a little for tire clearance), reversed the rear tires. Also, the plug check looks pretty good. A little on the rich side, barely if anything. But as I understand lean is real bad for the motor. So I'd rather error to the side of running rich if anything. Thanks for everything! Kids are all smiles!!!!!!!!
