I need some help from those with 400EX's who have dumped the factory clutch perch and parking brake. I'm getting rid of the parking brake and have a block-off on order, but I've heard that some 400EX owners have replaced the factory perch and lever with one from an XR250 (I think...). Will a perch and lever from an XR250 work? If so, do I need to order a different clutch cable as well? TIA!

I would recommend ordering the easier -pull style clutch lever and perch. It makes it easier to pull and if your going to replace it why not make it better? I don't now why you would want the xr lever I never heard that before. The stock clutch cable should work with either.

I bought a CR250 lever and perch from MSR and used the original cable. I think the CR and XR are the same size. If you get a new perch you have to get a new lever because the 400EX lever is to big. I put the CR pearch on because I didn't like the big parking brake thing.
