starter one way question
#1
I just pulled my 1 way apart and the spring wasnt broken, just stretched so bad it had no tension. I replaced it with an o ring and didnt pay much attention to how it came apart. I dont know if I stuck the assy in the large ring the right way. The gear that sits under it free spins counter clockwise, is that correct? Did I get it backwards? I havent buttoned it up yet so if I did it wrong please lemme know. It didnt seem like it would fit together the other way but I'd like to be sure before hitting the button. Btw, has anyone located a suitable replacement spring? I did a search of wire springs but didnt see anything similar.

The arrow on the starter clutch must face inward, away from the AC magneto rotor.
To test operation. Install the starter wheel gear to the starter clutch and hold the starter clutch. When turning the starter wheel gear counterclockwise the starter clutch and wheel gear should be engaged.
When turning the starter wheel gear clockwise the starter wheel gear should turn freely.
