Default GYT-R spark arrestor ?

Just put a GYT-R slip on and jet kit on my raptor. Rode it for about 2 hours and went to wash it and the spark arrestor was protruding out the back of the pipe. It basicly turned inside out. I was woundering if this has happened to anyone eles. And also is the spark arrester really needed? can i run without it? Thanks

I too had this question before... First it will not harm your motor in any way without it. 2nd the spark arrestor is so no sparks shoot out your pipe when you trail ride and start a fire. 3rd I think it is a bit louder without it. hope this helps.

you don't need the spark arrestor it actually takes away from performance. but if your considering not using it i would buy it off you cause i need to run it at a spot i ride at.

Just bought a used Gyt-r slip on. The screen spark arrester has been removed, but the ring that held it in place still exists. It just sits there and rattles. Is it ok to remove it and leave the space open, or will somethng else come loose.
